Michael “Juice” Thompson

Vice Chair, Advocacy Director

After graduating from Lincoln Park High School in 2007, Juice attended Northwestern University and was a four-year starter and lettermen recipient of the basketball team with a degree in communication studies. He still holds the record for most points scored in a Big10 tournament game (35) against Minnesota in his senior year. Juice graduated from Northwestern in 2011 to have a successful 11-year professional basketball career overseas all over Europe, the middle east, and Africa. Retired from his playing career, Juice is now a basketball coach and skills development trainer.

“I enjoy uplifting our youth with positive words and actions. It is imperative to help the younger generations understand that they matter and can achieve every goal they set for themselves”.

Juice has a strong background in volunteering for various non-profit organizations and community service. His passion for becoming a part of Shoot for the Stars is clear.

“I believe in the mission of Shoot for the Stars as well as the people involved. Working with an organization that genuinely cares about the safety and well-being of others is a great experience. I wanted to join Shoot for the Stars to do my part in eliminating gun violence and providing the youth with positivity and mentorship”.
