It is with a heavy heart that we announce the postponement of this year’s G-Tuck Classic Youth Camp and the cancellation of the Amateur And Pro Showcase. While we are deeply saddened to make this decision, we believe that it is in the best interest of everyone involved. We deeply apologize to our youth campers, participants and community members who had been looking forward to this weekend’s events.
Please know that this decision was not made lightly and that we share in your disappointment over the cancellation of this weekend’s events. The safety and wellbeing of our participants and volunteers is our top priority and will always come first.
The G-Tuck Classic is not just a basketball showcase; it is a cornerstone of our mission to engage and uplift the youth of Chicago, providing them with hope, inspiration, and positive role models. We remain committed to eliminating gun violence through positive engagement and support.
We are more determined than ever to host an event that honors the memory of George Tucker and continues to inspire and empower our community. We are actively working to schedule a new date for the Youth Camp, and we look forward to coming together soon to celebrate, honor, and uplift our community through the G-Tuck Classic.

Each year we hand out financial scholarships to individuals who have lost immediate family members from the plague of gun violence. We aim to increase the number of scholars each year as we grow and gain more support. Your donations are crucial to help us continue this great work.

Join us for a fun day of basketball led by the S4TS team!
In this one day camp, children will work through basketball drills and activities that encourage team building and problem solving. Students will end the day with a goodie bag and then get to show off their basketball skills at the Pro Tournament on Saturday, July 27th.

About the G-Tuck Classic
Every summer, Shoot for the Stars hosts our annual G-Tuck Classic showcase event, created in memory of Gregory Tucker Jr., who was a victim of Chicago's rampant gun violence in October 2016.
Greg was an outstanding basketball player and well-known throughout the city. Not only was he an outstanding talent, but an outstanding individual in the Uptown community. Greg made friends in every corner of Chicago, bringing people together with the game he loved.
In his honor, the “G-Tuck Classic” memorial basketball event was established in the summer of 2017 and demonstrates the positive impact basketball has, as it has consistently facilitated collaborative efforts from various communities to support Greg’s family and daughter and use the game of basketball to unite, educate, and support communities all throughout Chicago.
